We’ve brought you a number of ‘Nurburgring Record’ stories over the last year. It’s a big deal for car makers and adds kudos to their offerings. So it’s no surprise to see Ferrari pitching their hat in to the ring with the claim of a new Nurburgring record for the Ferrari 599XX.
Porsche will return to the track in 2012 with the third generation of its rolling laboratory, the 911 GT3 R hybrid. The company continues to push its technology, noting its future in the sport. “There is no way around the hybrid technology in motorsport,” said Wolfgang Hatz, board member for research and development.
The 1,000,000th Land Rover Discovery has rolled off the line at the company's Solihull plant in West Midlands in the United Kingdom. To celebrate the milestone, Land Rover is sending the SUV on an 8,000-mile, 13-country “Journey of Discovery” from Birmingham to Beijing for the motor show on April 23. The company did the same thing in 1955 when the first Series 1 rolled off the line.
